Calculations for Baytril 10%

The product: Baytril 10% (See end of page)

The dosage: 5 - 10 mg/kg every 12 hours

The suspension: 100 mg/ml

Note: A few things... This is an injectable however it can be administered orally.
If giving by injection, you must dilute this product! Be sure to dilute the amount below with an equal amount (or more) of sterile saline for injection. It will burn and actually melts fat (it is a strong base).
If giving orally, you must dilute this product! It tastes horrible and actually melts rat tongues (it is a strong base). Be sure to add, to the amount below, something excrutiatingly sweet to mask the very bitter Baytril.

Also, 0.01 cc is very small. If you need help reading a syringe, click here.

These calculations do not apply to any other product or formulation other than the one mentioned above!

Disclaimer: There are many non-sarcastic accounts and tips on the web regarding rat care. This is not one of them. These are merely accounts of our experiences with rats, our perceptions of these experiences, where we've failed and where we've succeeded. These accounts are here for two purposes:

    1) To entertain.
    2) To help avoid repetition of mistakes
